A little about me

I'm so glad you're here. Still Waters Psychiatry was created to be a place where seeking psychiatric care doesn't feel intimidating — where you can ask questions, understand your options, and feel heard and respected from your very first visit.

Before becoming a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I spent several years working as an emergency room nurse. Those experiences taught me that every person has a story, and that taking the time to truly listen can make all the difference. They also reinforced something I still believe today — that mental health deserves the same compassion, understanding, and attention as physical health.

As a South Texas native raised in a Mexican-American family, I understand the importance of culturally sensitive care and the role that family, culture, and life experiences play in our mental health. I proudly provide care in both English and Spanish.

My approach is simple. I believe mental health care should feel like a conversation, not a checklist. I practice integrative psychiatry — meaning I look at the multifactorial causes of mental health, including labs and physical health factors, not just symptoms alone. Whether we're discussing medication, lifestyle, lab findings, or long-term goals, I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in your care. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that reflects your needs, your lifestyle, and your goals.

My approach

My approach to care

I practice integrative psychiatry — looking at the multifactorial causes of mental health, including labs and physical health factors. Care should feel like a conversation, not a checklist. Together, we'll create a treatment plan that reflects your needs, your lifestyle, and your goals.

Collaborative

You are the expert on your own life. I want you to feel comfortable asking questions and actively participating in your care — every step of the way.

Culturally sensitive

As a South Texas native raised in a Mexican-American family, I understand the role that family, culture, and lived experience play in mental health. Care is available in English and Spanish.

Unhurried

I keep my schedule intentionally small so you never feel rushed. Every appointment is time set aside to truly listen and understand your story.

Integrative

Mental health doesn't exist in isolation. I look at the multifactorial causes behind symptoms — including labs, physical health, lifestyle, and environment — to understand the full picture before making treatment decisions.

Compassionate

Mental health deserves the same compassion and attention as physical health. Whatever brings you here, you will be met with warmth and respect — no judgment, ever.

Telehealth

Why telehealth?

Telehealth isn't a compromise — it's a better fit for many people. It removes the barriers of commute time, parking, and rigid scheduling, and it lets you receive care from the comfort and privacy of your own space.

I chose a fully virtual model because I believe it allows me to serve more Texans — including those in rural areas, those with demanding schedules, and those who simply feel more at ease at home. Research consistently shows that telehealth psychiatric care is as effective as in-person care for most conditions.

All appointments are conducted through a secure, HIPAA-compliant video platform. You'll receive a link before each visit. All you need is a quiet space and a device with a camera.

Ready to take the first step?

At Still Waters Psychiatry, my goal is simple: to create a space where seeking support feels a little easier and a lot less intimidating. It would be a privilege to be part of your journey.
